Hallo hallo, I am Tobias! I am a full-time digital artist that draws animal people. My main sonas bounce primarily between Sebastian and Monochromius, with Arthenos, Euillcys, Loke and Octis being the others. Adontis is my mascot, with their face being my logo. Each of my characters has their own lore, with most having a lot of universe overlap. There's probably about two to three stories existing congruently for each character.

I was born a small old man and have been neck deep in art the entire time. My beginnings started out with DeviantART and Neopets, braching out later to Tumblr and then across a multitude of platforms. I embarked into freelancing full-time around 2020. My original fursona back in the day was Zephyrave and while I don't use him much anymore, he was with me for a significant part of my younger years and I hold him near and dear still to this day.

A lot of my worldbuilding and lore is written behind-the-scenes, but I do write a little bit about my characters on sites such as Toyhouse and Lorepository.

I create art simply for the love of the game. I'm grateful to have a professional career, but the monetization factor has always come secondary to the joy of being able to breathe life into a character or scene. I draw because I want to draw. I monetize it because I'm old and have taxes to pay.Nowadays if I'm not drawing I'm spending my time lore building, writing slow-burn fanfiction, and collecting trading cards. I enjoy TCGs for (you guessed it) the art. I am obsessed with the band Bastille and use their lyrics as titles for a lot of my work.

SCHEDULE UPDATE

✦ After a long stay with family over the summer, I am now back home! Today I'm catching up and touching base with those that reached out while I was away between September 30 and October 7.I am now back to work largely uninterrupted! While my heart isn't in tachycardic purgatory anymore, I am now on a strict four-day week rather than the unintended seven I used to operate on. I'll also be moving away from referring to my working days as "business days" to avoid any confusion going forward._{Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
Rest Days: Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday}I'll be updating my email footers, email auto-responder, as well as my Trello and website to reflect the schedule change.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

✦ A quick last note vaguely related to my health issues this year: please if you're able, do yourself the tremendous favour and defend your work-life balance and agency to say "enough is enough" or "I need more time" when you need to. Years into the future you won't be wishing you'd stayed up later to get more work done or answered more outside-work-hours emails or calls. If you're not careful, future-you may look back to see years spent working instead of living, possibly battling an avoidable health issue caused by overworking.It's no secret many people feel disconnected from themselves because work has infiltrated every waking moment of their lives. It shouldn't be this way, yet it is out of sheer necessity just to survive. If you can, set aside time to meaningfully reconnect yourself with and your hobbies and interests. Read a book. Do a paint-by-number. Try out felting or beadwork. Life isn't meant to be all work and while bills and rent will absolutely try to convince you life's a non-stop onslaught of punishment, partaking in at least one little hobby will do so much more for your long-term mental health than pessimistically resigning yourself to your job or doomscrolling on your phone ever can.

✦ Artistic Liberty or Art Direction, which do you prefer?I work best with generous artistic liberty, but can accommodate specific prompts and ideas.

✦ What species can you draw?I can illustrate any species, fictional and not. This includes humans, humanoids, mechanical characters, and characters with bionic features.

✦ What themes won't you draw?Themes I will not illustrate include, but are not limited to, the following:_{✘ extreme violence; heavy gore, torture etc
✘ stereotypes or caricatures
✘ historically accurate war or military paraphernalia}

✦ Would you draw something to look like a specific art style?I will not emulate another artist's specific art style if requested, but I can try to emulate pop culture art styles such as My Little Pony Friendship is Magic or Bluey for silly Telegram stickers and the like.

✦ What days are you in office?Days reserved for commission work are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. I am out of office on Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday and will not be available to respond to emails during that time.This schedule may change in the future, so please refer to the schedule listed in my email footers and Trello for the latest up-to-date days if this FAQ is not appropriately updated.

✦ Where are commission openings posted / announced?Commissions open sporadically. Opening dates and times are typically announced on my Telegram Channel and Discord.

✦ How can I commission you?Please fill out an Order Form during my commission openings! I may occasionally accept new projects outside of these openings. Those interested can reach out directly through email if they'd like.

✦ What information do you need for commissions?Ideally I like to have the following information before accepting a project:_{✓ client's username + primary social media [for crediting]
✓ a safe for work, flat coloured reference sheet of the character to be illustrated
✓ a short bullet list detailing the client's prompt[s] / idea[s]

✦ How do I know if I'm selected during your openings?All applicants are emailed back letting them know if their form was chosen or not.

✦ Do you have a pinglist? Can you DM me when you open?I do not have a pinglist set up at this time. I strongly encourage you to join my Telegram or Discord if you'd like to be notifiied when I open.

✦ What is the Process Like? How many WIPs will I get?Typically each client receives at least one concept sketch for their project.Concept sketches are rough - intended primarily to establish the pose and expression. More intricate details such as accessories, anatomy, and background assets, are build upon and corrected after the concept sketch is approved by the client. See below for concept sketch to final renderings:

✦ It's been some time since I heard from you, can I ask about my commission?Absolutely! Clients are always welcome to reach out to me if they have questions or concerns at any point.

✦ I commissioned you some time back but have since lost the file. Would you still have a copy?Check your emails first! If you don't have our email correspondence anymore, don't hesitate to email me and ask.

✦ Do you accept tips / How can I tip you for your work?Tips are never expected, but always appreciated. If a client would like to tip me, they made do so through the invoice sent to them at the time of payment, or through my Ko-Fi or Paypal.me.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

_{By purchasing a commission the client consents to these Terms and Conditions. This page may be updated periodically. First-person references, (I, Me, Myself) within these conditions refer to the artist of the commission transaction. Client will refer to the customer, or purchaser, of the transaction.}

🌿 general

✦ Submitting an Order Form does not guarantee acceptance. I reserve the right to refuse a commission.
✦ Prices are subject to change. Clients will not be billed nor reimbursed the difference if the cost of an item changes during a project's duration.
✦ The client understands that they are paying for the non-refundable time and expertise of an artist. Completed commissions are not eligible for refund.

🌿 COMMUNICATIONS

✦ Discussions regarding ongoing projects and other business-related inquiries are conducted entirely over email.
✦ Unless communication with a client is lost, I will only ever reach out over email. I do not utilize social media direct messages for business communications due to poor organization and lack of reliability.
✦ Emails are handled on working days [stated in email footers and autoresponder].
✦ Files for finished artwork are sent to the client via their specified contact email.
✦ If a client requires their artwork for a deadline, they must express this at the time of purchase. Please note: not all deadlines can be accommodated. Rush fees may apply.
✦ Clients are welcome to reach out via email at any point to inquire about the status of their project.

🌿 artwork, WIPS & revisions

✦ Clients may request edits [such as colour adjustments, artist errors and markings] after the artwork is completed. Edits that would greatly impact the integrity of the lineart may be subject to a fee.
✦ Work in Progress updates [or "WIPs"] are mid-progress updates sent back to the client for approval throughout the project prior to the artwork's completion. A client may receive up to one to two WIPs for a single commissioned piece. This may vary on the style of commission.
✦ I may terminate a commission if the project is being hindered by the revision process. Should a project be terminated, the client will be immediately receive a partial refund. ✦ Refund amounts may vary, determined by the volume of work completed at the time of issue.

✦ All commissions are publicly listed on Trello.
✦ Position in the queue may vary due to response time or artwork complexity.
✦ Every commission is subject to an estimated turnaround time. This estimate is not a guarantee and may vary depending on factors such as complexity and order quantity.

🌿 quotes

✦ Quotes provide an estimate price for a particular commission. Quote pricing is valid during up to and including the next immediate commission opening if not specified when issued.

🌿 PAYMENTS AND REFUNDS

✦ Invoices are due within ten days of issue.
✦ Clients may request a payment plan or extension on their invoice due date.
✦ Payments can be accepted through Paypal invoicing or Square invoicing.
✦ If a refund must be issued, the client will receive a partial to full refund. Refund amounts may vary, determined by the volume of work completed at the time of issue.
✦ Fees and processing times imposed on refunds by the payment service provider will not be compensated for by the artist.

🌿 cancellations & scrapped projects

✦ Unless arrangements have been made, unpaid commissions that have exceeded ten days in the queue without response from the client will be removed from the queue with notice and considered cancelled.
✦ A project may be cancelled due to reasons including but not limited to: conflict of interest, health complications in the artist, and abusive behaviour from the client.
✦ Should a project be terminated by the artist's decision, the client will be immediately receive a partial to full refund. Refund amounts may vary, determined by the volume of work completed at the time of issue.
✦ If a commission was abandoned or cancelled while incomplete, it may be repurposed or resold as a Your Character Here or custom commission. Property of the client [i.e, their character] will be removed and changed prior to the artwork being relisted for sale.

🌿 commercial use

✦ Clients must obtain written permission prior to distributing or utilizing artwork for commercial use purposes.
✦ Commercial use fees vary between projects. Please email me for an accurate quote regarding your specific project.
✦ Depending on the project, royalties may or may not apply. Royalty rate and applicability varies depending on the project type and client [corporation vs sole proprietorship].
✦ Royalties may apply for merchandise or prints involving the artwork.
✦ Small-scale projects may be eligible for a one-time license fee instead of a royalty rate. This is an additional 15% of the project's cost and only needs to be paid once for indefinite commercial use.
✦ Commercial use licenses are non-transferable and are exclusive to the original client.
✦ Any use of my artwork relating to non fungible tokens, image generation tools [including the use as learning data], or cryptocurrency is strictly prohibited, regardless if monetized or not. I will not accept projects designated for this use.
